Tehran is the capital and largest city of Iran, and the administrative center of Tehran Province. Tehran is a sprawling city at the foot of the Alborz mountain range. The city is famous for its numerous ski resorts on the Alborz slopes, large museums, art centers, and palace complexes.
Most Iranian industries are headquartered in Tehran, including the manufacturing of automobiles, electrical equipment, textile, sugar, cement, and chemical products. Tehran is also a leading center for the sale of carpets and furniture.
In the 20th century, Tehran faced a large migration of people from all around Iran. Today, the city contains various religious minorities and has many historic mosques, churches, synagogues and Zoroastrian fire temples. Contemporary Tehran is a modern and expensive city featuring many tall structures, of which the Azadi Tower and the Milad Tower have come to be symbols of Tehran itself.

Fars is where the Persians or Farsis first settled and the great Achamaenian Empire was once centered. Persepolis was the greatest city of the region and is the principal attraction today in Fars province. Shiraz, the provincial center, claims its glory as the capital of several Islamic dynasties and perhaps more importantly as an artistic center. Fars province has the largest number of nomads in Iran, mostly from the Ghasghai tribe.

Shiraz is also known as the city of gerdens, and that is mostly due to the two beautiful gardens of Eram and Narenjestan. Here in these two gardens you can see why the Persian gardens are so famous.

This city is situated on the bank of Zayandeh Rud from ancient times. Isfahan has the greatest concentration of Islamic monuments in Iran. Most of these monuments date back to the golden age of Isfahan in 16th century during the Safavid dynasty.

The cool blue tiles of Isfahan contract perfectly with the hot, dry country-side around it. Isfahan is a sight you won’t forget. Not only is the architecture superb and the climate pleasant, but it has a very relaxing atmosphere for walking, cruising in the Bazaar, enjoying the beautiful gardens and meeting people. Isfahan’s sites are too many to list, but even the shortest visit should include: The famous bridges, Alighapou palace, Imam Square, Imam and shekh Lutfullah mosques, Chehelsotton palace, Armenian Vank Churches and Jame mosque.

Yazd is one of the oldest and typical desert cities of Iran. Some of the historians attribute its construction to Alexander the Great, who built a prison there for a number of Iranian elite resisting his domination. Yazd is famous for its architecture which is in consistency with the dry plains climate of that area. This form of architecture is designed to catch even the lightest of breezes and direct them down to the rooms. The first view of the city is its striking panorama, dwellings, distinctive domed roofs, arched terraces, and wind towers. There are outstanding historical sights to be seen, such as; Kabir mosque, jail of Alexander, Tower of silence and Zoroastrians fire temples, which in the central room you can see the everlasting fire guarded by a priest.

If you do visit Yazd, make sure you try its famous sweets, because Yazd is said to have some of the tastiest Persian sweets.

Kerman is the land of mountains and deserts. The deserts and dry mountains of Kerman have an intact and beautiful natural setting, a lively and interesting environment as well as rare flocks of Zebras and deer. Kerman city is counted as one of the oldest cities and its construction is dated back to the 3rd century AD. The historical sights and monuments of Kerman include the Ganj-Ali-Khan complex consisting of the bath, Jabalyyeh dome, Malek mosque, sabz dome, Ardeshir castle and Dokhtar castle.

This city is not very old; it used to be a small village called Sanabad, which grew into a large city as time passed by. The present-day Mashad is the capital of the mighty province of Khorasan and one of the most important pilgrimage centers in Iran. It is such an important pilgrimage center because of the tomb of Hazrat-e-Reza (8th Imam of Shiite). Over 12 million Muslims travel to this city from all over the world mainly during summer to visit his tomb. Because of this great number of visitors, Mashhad has a variety of hotels.

Sights that should be visited if you go to Mashad are: Moghan cave, Mausoleum of Nader Shah, Astan-e-Gods-e Razavi,Malek abad garden,Shandiz.

Tabriz means " The land of Tribes & ethnic group". This city was built in the ancient times & since then has been hosting various tribes including Turks, Tatars, Kurds, Assyrians and Armenians. Tabriz the capital of Azarbayjan-e-Sharghi is an oasis town in an enclosed valley. As Tabriz is located on the way to Europe and Asia, many people travel through this city.

The city is situated in the northern slopes of Sahand Mountain hand has a cold weather.The minimum temperature in winter reaches -20. Once in Tabriz make sure to visit the Masjed-e-Kabood (the blue dome mosque) which is famous for its beautiful turquoise dome and vivid blue tiles. Other attractions are: Arg-e-Tabriz, Church of St.Thaddaeus. Also the Bazaar of Tabriz is one of the most beautiful and traditional Bazaar’s in Iran and it is worth a visit.

Kish Island is a beautiful island and touristic resort located on the north east of the Persian Gulf. It is often called the Pearl of the Persian Gulf and is known for being one of the most beautiful resorts in the Middle East and the Persian Gulf. No entry visa is required for Kish. Foreign nationals need no entry visa at the authorized arrival and departure points in Kish Island.

There is a variety of water sports available in Kish such as: jet-skiing, sailing, fishing, parasailing, reef walking, coral viewing. Snorkeling in the beaches of Kish Island are said to be amongst the best in the world.

Since Kish is a free trade zone, it is a perfect place for profitable shopping and trading. The prices of goods in Kish are notably cheaper than in mainland Iran. Many Iranians and tourists visit Kish to purchase duty free clothes, electronic goods, cosmetics, etc. There are a number of large shopping centers, most of them situated in the eastern part of the island.

However you must not think that this city has no historical aspects to offer to tourist, people intresed more in history and culture can also visit: Greek Ship, Giant Bird Sculpture, Underground Town of Cariz, the Ancient Town of Harireh.
